Kia Ora all !!!
We rocked our day today, from 0830 until now… From Hurangi Inlet, we did our morning swim and duties, enjoyed breakfast and then splited in port and starboard, they went into navigation class so that on Friday they all will be able to bring back the ship home.
We then went for a climb up the shrouds to reach the Top sails yards, as it’s from there the R.Tucker Thompson Challenge can be achieved! Bravo to Brittney, Monique, Eli, Rufaro, Kawiti, Hamish, Te Morehu, Thomas and Tahua! Also big claps to Billy and Tenika for their try, they might get it tomorrow.
After lunch and a delicious piece of chocolate cake, we went for an afternoon sail and they worked on ‘Tacking’ the ship, three stations were set: Head sails, Foresail and Mainsail plus a new captain on every rotation. We made our way to Motuarohia island. They were all very excellent with full on team work and really good communication. We were very proud of their performance! The anchor went down and it was time for a jump from the mega swing! The only thing, we could hear was laughs and splashes! An abandon ship drill was explained, and in less than three minutes we were all in the dinghy, safety jackets on, ready to go in a safer place. Again “well done”!
The dinner is cooking, the Ukulele and guitar are grooving around the ship. Our plan for tonight is to go on shore for a Spot light, but we won’t be spending the night at Moturuhia, instead our night anchorage will be at Orokawa. We have boil up for dinner whanau 🙂
