day three yth1304
Kiaora koutou. It was a still night in Paroa Bay last night. We all got up early this morning to see the dolphins swimming around the ship. Kia Ora Whanau, a great first day aboard the ‘good ship’ has been enjoyed by all. Our new sailors have been getting to know each other and are exploring the ship, they have climbed the rig, the bowsprit and had a swim at Palm tree bay. After a scrummy soup and scone lunch we set sail and sailed a lap of the islands. Tim and Chance are showing confidence aloft and Mandy was the first to brave the water with Wowo following behind. Ebony and Breanna took turns steering the ship and thanks to Captain Steve’s guidance we missed all the islands !! There has been plenty of laughter and fun on our first day, tomorrow can only be better. Ma te Wa, Po Marie Whanau.

The clarity in the water was good, considering the wild weather for yesterday.

We made a shore excursion to collect some pipi and stretch the legs, all rugged up for the cold wind..
