Batten down the hatches …there be a storm a brewing… Greetings from the good ship to thy land lubbers! Today we went ashore to Moturua island to stretch thy legs, with high winds and stormy seas passing by whilst we circumnavigated by foot. After completing the trail, we secured our fine ship and set sail into big sea, where we were greeted by heavy rain and big waves. Rozalyn, Rupert, Raven and Isiah had a fantastic ride on the bowsprit all the way around Tapeka…. hooting and howling all the way…Tacking here and wareing there our crew navigated our path to the safe and calm anchorage of Russell.

Upon arrival, the chosen one was sent forth to the mother land to gather kai i.e. hot chips to go with our fresh fish caught from the previous day. After lunch, we piled in to the long boat and went ashore to visit Pompellier House. With all sailors taking interest in the old techniques used to make leather and the printing press used to manufacture the words of the holy bible, our minds were filled with awe of the commitment and hard work of the old days… When we returned to the good ship, through the torrential rain, we were greeted with dry clothes and hot chocolate. Once warm and dry, and a feed of banana cake, twas straight into lessons…the trainees getting completely immersed into the phoenetic alphabet. Rob has cooked us a delicious hot meal, and everyone is warm and happy…
