Kia Ora whanau and welcome to the first tale of adventure aboard the R Tucker Thompson. A new crew of trainees have joined the ship and are getting to “learn the ropes”. Blue skies and calm seas made the introduction to life aboard the ship a pleasant experience. Our trainees were soon climbing aloft and exploring the ship. With our man overboard and safety drills completed, we motored to Oke Bay where they all enjoyed a swim and snorkel. We launched Lil Tuc, our rowing dinghy and our trainees tried their hand at paddling. The divers came back with a feed of kina which was soon devoured. Our meal of roast apricot chicken and veges was enjoyed by all. With our bellies full we are about to fill our trainees brains with knowledge on navigation and chartwork so they can plan our day tomorrow. Where will we end up?
