Kiaora everyone!
The good ship is headed around the corner to Whangamumu to check out the whaling station, and anchor for the night.
This morning, we all geared up for a shore excursion on Urupukapuka after our morning lesson on Biosecurity, and Project Island Song.
Once ashore, crew member Nate took, Phillip, Jacob, Quin and Raven on one path and crew member Pania took the remaining group onto the other part of a loop trail to see who could ambush who!
Along the way, Kuao, along with his hawkeye vision, spotted some gorse and other weeds growing alongside the track, so he, Alana and Zayea stopped and pulled them out. Well done!
Soon after a walk across the rocks to the dinghy we realised it must be getting close to lunch time, so we headed back to the ship, downed a quick and easy pizza, did our safety checks, called into Russell radio to let them know we were leaving, and now we’re Motukokako bound for a look see!
Our anchorage in Whangamumu harbour has little to no reception at all, so don’t worry! We’re ok!!! Everyone is having a wonderful time, enjoying this AMAZING weather.
