Greetings whanau from the good ship to thy land lubbers….What a fun filled day we have had so far…… Our day started at 0400 arising before tama nui te ra….. Weighed anchor and silently slipped out the gates of Whangamumu once out it was time for hot chocolates and coffee…..After being warmed up we raised the sails and set course for the Poor Knights islands….. Arriving there in time for breakfast at 0830…

Dishes done, trainees wasted no time putting armour on (wet suits) and plunging into the depths on the E side of Aorangi…. What an amazing sight to behold having 10-15 pound plus schools of Snapper swimming at our feet Trevally also making appearances now and again and pretty array of blue and pink Maomao shimmering all around us it was amazing……

Then it was back on the mother ship then it took no persuasion to convince trainees to board the tender to observe Rikoriko the great sea cave on NW side of Tawhiti Rahi… 1400 it was time to set sails once again with a strong westerly to carry us to Tutukaka where we are anchored for the night we are all sleepy eyed and ready for tea mmmmmm fishhhhhh from yesterdays catch …… πŸ™‚
