Greetings from us soggy sailors… yay the rain has eased to showers becoming rather pleasant for our first day of the voyage… When we finally left the Opua warf we pottered out to the safety of Motuarohia where we anchored for lunch, did our safety briefing and general orientation of the ship…

Lunch at Motuarohia and blue skies

Once eating and dishes where finished all the trainees showed the crew they could dawn their life jackets before abandoning the ship to go to the beach for a wee shore excursion and team bonding.. Upon arrival back to the ship Ethan lost his hat over the side, not to fear courageous Allan lunged in after it saving it from sinking with Luca, Lachlan and Mikayla all joining Allan for a swim cause apparently it was “hot”..

We have since weighed anchor and are making our way to Te Hue where we will remain for the night, the ship is vibrating with chatter and all trainees are settling in well….
Pomarie whanau…
