We are truly blessed as the weather was perfect when the good ship departed Opua for the realm of Tangaroa. We sailed on short crew but met with Destiny our extra man at Paihia.
Little did the crew know but they had a destiny with a film crew that were especially flying out by helicopter to film the ship and our merry crew for a cinemagraphic epic on Northland. It looked fantastic with trainees waving from all vantage points of the rig. April was as high as you can get probably looking down on the helicopter.
A health hearty soup to restore our energy and its back to the serious stuff.
Man overboard practice, with Wilson our dummy. Two good recoveries and away we go on the next adventure !!
Moturoa island beckoned for a spot of diving and hill walking, up to the WW2 gun enplacements. Some lucky people served out the war here. Cool.
Tonight we are anchored at Whale Bay ready for an early start as we head north to see what Tangaroa has in store for us tomorrow.
