Ahoy! This has been a great start to our adventure. Our trainees braved the wind and rain as we headed out towards Tapeka, unfortunately with the wind against us we made it one step forward but two steps back where we anchored up in Matauwhi Bay. Here we had a warming soup lunch followed by some lessons on anchoring and recycling. With the sun now shining we raised the anchor and made our way around the Bay. On the way Sandy, Zion, Paris, and Gabriel made it to the top of the rigging while Matiri was at the helm.

The fun really began when we headed into the swell with Kane, Jennifer, Johnny and Gabriel sitting out on the bowsprit getting dipped in and out of the waves. After a majestic sunset we are now anchored in Orokawa Bay looking forward to a big day tomorrow.
