The day began early with anchor and sails up by 0630, with a beautiful sail up the east coast rounding Cape Brett with lots of wind. Across the bay in flatter waters we all agreed to continue on. Trainees were soon aloft unfurling the topsails from the Black Rocks across to Waewaetorea and a welcome break on land, hills to climb, rocks to scramble around, beaches to clean.

Back on board trainees furled the topsails and we set off for our overnight anchorage in Parekura Bay.We left this morning with anchor and sails up before the sun. A great sail up the coast with following seas and a consistent southerly pushing us north into the Bay.

Then trainees were aloft unfurling the topsails as we sped across the bay from Black Rocks to Waewaetorea and a welcome run about ashore.

Back on the ship topsails furled and off to our overnight anchor in Parekura Bay.

Class work and the making of rope monkey fists keeping us entertained while the boil up aroma oozes through the ship.

All trainees having a full day will be looking towards their bunk tonight.
