Yth 1806- Wha ra

This morning’s routine started with the usual morning swim, Morning duties and breakfast. After breakfast we Hoisted anchor and set the main sail, fore sail and head sails and set a course bound for the hole in the rock. The trainees plotted a course to reach 3 nautical miles away from land so that we could dump our food scraps along the way. Below decks the trainees had lessons on Recycling and Navigation before coming up stairs to relieve their belly’s from the slight swell. Some trainees found this time was best used out on the bow sprit. On arrival we lowered the head sails and launched the tender. The trainees all enjoyed the chance to go through the hole in the rock and explore one of the caves in the island.
We got the tucker up close enough to gaze at the old lighthouse keeper’s home before setting a new course for Deep water cove. We dropped the sails and anchor on arrival. It was time to enjoy our delicious risotto lunch. Ankit was brave enough to face his fears and complete the tucker challenge before the trainees completed our 30 minutes of silence for the day. Then it was time for a dive! Zayn, Caitlin, Archer, Pierre, Cyrus, Chief and Ryley all took the opportunity to dive the crystal clear reefs of deep water cove, while Faye, Ankit, EJ, and Maioha all took this opportunity to drive the tender. Once we arrived back on the ship everyone enjoyed hot showers before getting changed, hoisting the tender, anchor and setting a course for our night anchorage in Paradise Bay. At the moment a delicious dinner of silverside is being prepared while the trainees fill out their log books.
Tomorrow we have another big day planned with a lucky trainee having his birthday aboard the ship, and a day of planting on the islands with the project island song group, we are really excited. Keep tuned for tomorrows update, until then….

Goodnight!
