Our final night on the ship; Pork roast is cooking for dinner, The trainees are cleaning the deck after a long day of island hiking and diving for kina and mussels, The last of the long summer-like sun is fading into the west. Soon all will gather for class and fill in their log books with the days’ journey – visiting Motu Roa and diving at the Black Rocks. A great day in the sun with some great young trainees. This is our last blog for the last youth voyage of 2016. It has been full of many firsts – our first voyage north to Taipa and first to begin in Whangaroa Harbour. Tomorrow we will return to our home port of Opua in the Bay of Islands to meet family and friends again but we’ve had a great adventure, meet some inspiring people and seen some really cool places along the way.
