Kia ora whanau, today we awoke to a beautiful morning in Oke Bay. The trainees were all pretty keen for a swim and got straight into the morning chores. After a hearty breakfast it was time for the youth to take over control of the ship – jobs were assigned and a plan made for the day. Parehuia was designated as skipper and she had no trouble whipping the recruits into shape. Snorkeling at deep water cove, swimming through Taniwha’s tunnel and a walk on Urupukapuka were all on the agenda with Anzac biscuits, fudge and fresh bread to fuel our endeavours. We are all safely back on the ship and looking forward to Wayne’s roast. It has been busy day which has seen the last few trainees earn their bracelets for climbing the rigging; I think everyone will sleep well tonight! See you all in Opua tomorrow.
