It was a challenging day not being at sea. After we managed the morning rituals it was into the classroom for lessons from the book as the rain arrived. Some extended chart work and knot tying helping to get to a late lunch. Souperb and the best yet cheese scones, a bonus for bad weather the cook has more time and a level ship to cook, produces amazing meals. The afternoon was free time waiting on the weather to clear, it didn’t. Cards, drawing, but alas no cake!
An attempt at fishing was made but the rain returned leaving lines abandoned in the hope of the big one catching itself, fortunately dinner is on the stove. The trainees gather around the galley with offers of assistance, the cook always the most popular of the crew. The talk turns to a full day tomorrow, the weather report supports the idea, just gotta put it into practice.
