Kia Ora Whanau,

Despite weather predictions for the day we awoke to clear blue skies to compliment our morning swim. Chores were completed and breakfast was devoured before we gathered in the saloon for a lesson on finances.

After our lesson we decided to take advantage of the sun and the Southerly winds of 15 to 20 knots to set sail for Indigo Bay. A delicious lunch of couscous salad, potato bake and leftover risotto was ready upon arrival into the Bay before we made our way onto shore to explore.

After a brief walk up the hill overlooking the Bay Of Islands, we stopped for a period of silence where we could take in the magnificent views while basking in the autumn sunshine. On our way back down we stopped into the duck hide to observe the native bird life. We were lucky enough to spot 1 female and 1 male Saddleback competing for food and one North Island Robin chilling in a tree.

After a game of touch on the beach with everyone involved including Captain Tim, we made our way back to the ship to enjoy a nice hot choccy while we made our way to the anchorage for the night in Parorenui Bay.

A sunset swim and yummy Spaghetti Bolognese dinner made for a great end to a great day.
