Kia ora whanau mai te kaipuke o te Tai Tokerau
We are now anchored up in Whangaruru harbour just off Motukauri, we’ve had a awesome day today graced with fair winds and sunny blue skies, we stopped in at Urupukapuka bay on our way here from Oke bay to do a quick beach clean up where Bay of islands college got the most rubbish and Huanui school found the smallest piece of rubbish scoring points for their teams, as the wind was so favourable we got a good sail in from Cape Brett to our current location. On our way down Kaitaia, Opononi and Dargaville schools worked together to create some delicious Afghan cookies which were much appreciated and quickly devoured by the trainees and crew, while Pompallier school got their bracelets for courageously climbing out to the end of the lower yard arm.
The competition is very close at the moment whanau with only 1.5 points separating 1st and last place !!! all teams are eager to win and can not wait for the challenges that tomorrow will bring , the trainees are settling in nicely for the night now and the ship is resonating with giggles and laughter!
