YTH-1801 Rua ra

Rua Ra

Ahoj from the Good Ship R.Tucker Thompson, after a full day of activities the trainees and crew are getting into the rhythm of life aboard. After an un expected quiet start to the morning we soon had all swam and showered and full into cleaning duties. Then it was breakfast time and dishes, always the longest task of the day.

Up on deck for some line handling to understand more of  sail hoisting and lowering then hoist away just as the wind dropped to a light breeze,  day plan altered to allow for a visit to Motuarohia , high tide and lagoon full,  perfect for snorkling. Some ashore by  tender , the rest choosing to swim to the nearby beach, yet only Maja and Materoa  went for the lagoon.. Gautier and Willi had a small inflatable they ventured about in much to their own delight. The lookout only managed to lure Jojo, Rena, Willi, GG, Errika and Clo to the top. Then they were soon all back on board for lunch and awaiting the next activity. Classroom, as crew introduced more of the manual with the phonetic alphabet and fishing regulations.

Then up anchor and off to Urupukapuka bay, 30 minutes of silence amongst a grove of trees to reflect on life,  beach sports, a hike up another hill for some, then off again to collect Britney to join the ship.

Then to anchor overnight with a Uenga. scrumptious dinner and the hope of clear skies for a sunny swim  in the morning.
