Kia Ora from the R Tucker Thompson

Today has been an awesome start to the third youth voyage of the season.

We departed Opua and raised almost every sail on board and set our course for Oke Bay.

Along the way a quick name game followed by unpacking gear and sausage sizzles for lunch.

After dishes were done, we split into our port and starboard groups and did a full orientation of the ship.

After our long but peaceful journey sailing out into the bay, we doused sails and dropped anchor in Oke bay where we will be spending the night.

Now everyone is getting familiar with climbing aloft and climbing out on the bow sprit.

Our plans for the rest of the evening will include a quick exploration ashore, dinner and some quick lessons covering safety at sea.

Overall a great start to the trip and looking forward to making memories for the week.
