What a beautiful day to start our voyage, the sun was shining and there were smiles all round. We waved goodbye to friends and whānau and set sail down the river. We played more games underway, learnt how to set sail and coil lines. Not long after we were served lunch, mac’n cheese by chef Rachel, so delicious. We sailed past the Black Rocks and headed for our night anchorage, Rangihoua. Once the anchor was set we went ashore, we played beach games, learnt a bit of history of the area and hiked to the top of the hill.
At the top we discussed how our week would look like, our activities and locations. It was now time to head back to the ship for a quick swim and dinner. For dinner tonight we’re having nachos. We expect to have a full evening with ship games until it is time for bed. Until tomorrow. Polaris
