Wakey wakey! Time for your morning swim! It was togs on, ready for our fresh morning dip. It was a pleasant one, calm and no wind. Our morning routine happened as normal, cleaning, breakfast and readying our sail stations.
Our first day of ship take over today, we have an epic plan for the day and couldn’t wait to leave our safe anchorage.
it was time to leave. “ Raise the anchor” yells Captain J. “All hands on deck” from First Mate D. We all hauled on lines, setting sail, heading for Motuarohia. Once there we ate lunch, made by the trainees, fried chicken with potato bake. A solid 10/10! Once our tummies were full it was time to walk it off. What a stunning view from the top of the lookout. Back to the ship we go. The sun turned on momentarily, enough to enjoy a swim off the ship. We still had half the days plan left to do, so it was time to head off to our next adventure, Otaio Bay, Urupukapuka Island. Off we went again. We set the Good Ships sails, enjoying a pleasant breeze to our night anchorage. Some of us were itching to stretch our legs once more so we walked around a loop track, enjoying the bush walk, scenery and birds. We popped into a bird watching hut, observing the many different species. As we headed back to the ship we could smell the beautiful aroma of our dinner, pork roast! We shared our final dinner together, reflecting on our week and blessing our food with our most memorable moments. Tonight we look forward to a game of spotlight on shore followed by our last sleep on our Good Ship.
This will be our last blog for this voyage. We hope you enjoyed our moments. We all look forward to seeing you tomorrow. From all of us, good night and safe travels.
