Today was an epic day despite the ongoing rain. Happiness and good vibes have clearly taken place on the atmosphere of Tucker. The day has basically started as usual with a cold morning swim, followed by the classic chores and breakfast. Sail training has taken place straight after by dividing everyone onto groups. Some of the trainees learned the basics lane handling and the other part climbed on the rig. In fact, today a good third of the trainees already completed the tucker challenge. Marama, TaiPari, Te Arani, Katie and Archie B were part of the success. Anchored is pulled up right before lunch and we made our way from Omakiwi cove to Opunga cove.
The delightful soup and scones that Abbey and Mishalaye cooked us was wonderful and highly appreciated by everyone.
First stop today was Pareanui Bay, where we sat under the very special tree where captain cook wrote his journal 250 years ago. Back onto the ship, some trainees had a warmer swim and enjoyed the rope swing thats onboard. Our night anchorage will be right around the corner ; Opunga cove.Dave the fisherman and hunter came to have dinner with us and had a speech to the trainees about his life and different careers opportunity which was very inspiring.
The trainees are all bonding will together and they already feel way more confident about being here. They all love challenge and are quite fearless.
The rest of the journey is very exciting and promising.
