Ahoy from the good ship!

Today has been an awesome day, with both sunshine and a little rain. Trainees woke up and jumped in for their daily swim, Emily being the first.

Then chores were completed, and breakfast eaten to fuel the day ahead.

Next, trainees got into 3 groups and each had a turn at sailing Little Tucker- our small sailing dingy, safely maneuvering the motorized dingy and learning some knots.

Then we hauled anchor and made our way to Roberton Island, with a sausage sizzle for lunch underway.

At Roberton Island, we went ashore to go for a snorkel in the lagoon with everyone apart from Emily getting in the water! Emily went for an explore on the rocks instead. Awatea, Jayden, Robbie and Tupuarangi were on a mission to get kina and the girls had a quick snorkel in the murky water, before swimming back to the ship and jumping from the shrouds.

When the boys got back, the kina was enjoyed by almost everyone and a feast was had.

Then we hauled anchor again and went out to the 3 mile mark to dump our food waste and black water.

This done, we are heading to our overnight anchorage at Army Bay with heaps of burley from the kina to use as bait tonight for our keen fishermen and fisherwoman.
