Kia ora whanau
We woke up to another beautiful, but very chilly, morning. Alfie was first in for our morning swims, and he reaped the benefits with no line for the hot shower!
Chores were done, breakky devoured and then it was time for a bit of climbing to support Alfie while he attempted the Tucker challenge. Even though he didn’t complete it just yet, he got one step closer to his goal. Well done!!
Then it was time for some bookwork and the trainees went through navigation and passage planning. Once their brains were full with new information, we hoisted anchor and left Orokawa in search of some fun.
Sails were raised and lunch was had on deck, with everyone enjoying the sunshine and scones with their lentil soup.
We went for a little tiki tour far out in the middle grounds to responsibly dispose of our waste. Then we pointed the ship towards Motuarohia island for our next anchorage. Josh, Mitch, Eugene and Jack went for a snorkel and got some fat kina while everyone else went for a hikoi up the hill to check out the views.
Eventually the cold winds forced the snorkelers out of the water and we all went back to the boat to enjoy the kina and pull up the anchor.
Now we are heading back to our night anchorage at Orokawa, with smells of dinner wafting through the ship and laughter coming from the saloon. Happy days.
