Kia Ora friends and Whanau.
First day out and already the ship is full of noise!
We have had a busy afternoon after leaving the wharf. Making it past the swell at Tapeka point, we headed out to Motuarohia to drop the anchor so we could have lunch without rolling around the deck. We ran through the orientation, trainees unpacked their bags and finally, once we were all settled in, it was time for a swim!
Dingy in the water, we went ashore for a hikoi, 20 minutes of silence and some games. One trainee even caught a fish with his bare hands in the lagoon.
Now we are all gathered around the galley with the delicious smell of Abbeys’ chicken curry wafting around the ship. Trainees are settling in really well, with lots of laughs and chats going down.
