Kia ora whanau! Day one and there’s already a large amount of noise and laughter coming from the saloon, as the trainees have already started card game battles. It’s been an awesome day out in the Bay, with just enough sunshine to keep us warm. Trainees had a big feed of mac n cheese for lunch, unpacked their bags for the week and went through orientation. Then we went ashore for a nice big hikoi up the hill on Urupukapuka Island, much to the dismay of most. It was worth it for the views though. Dinner is almost ready, and stomachs are growling. Fuel for the adventures tomorrow!
