YTH2308 – Rā Tuatahi – Day 1

Phew!

Today we motored down the river away from our families, learned how to set sails, had our orientation (and lunch!) and unpacked our bags. Once we got around Tapeka Point we were able to switch off the engine and have an awesome sail. During the passage everyone got in a harness and had a climb up the rigging and out on the bowsprit. By the time we were coming down, sails were due to be struck and we were arriving at our anchorage in Urupukapuka Bay. We have had a run around and some quiet time at the beach, a swim off the ship and hearty spaghetti bolognaise. We are alive and happy and quickly getting to know each other! Thanks Tucker and Top Energy!
