Kiaora whanau and friends of the Tucker! We were off to a fresh start this morning with a 0700 swim, followed by a nice warm sprinkle under the shower. The beautiful calm weather has prevailed! We scrubbed the decks and cleaned the head while breakfast was being prepared. After a big hearty brekky, we hoisted anchor and motored over to Army Bay on Moturua. The trainees packed up some sandwiches for lunch and we went ashore to join the Project Island Song team, assisting with weeding and learning lots from Shane.
After thoroughly exploring Army Bay, walking up to the Pa and playing games in the grass, it was time for a swim! We went back to the ship and got the rope swing out and washed off the mud. After a hot choccy, trainees went through line handling and safety aloft. While the smells of yummy chicken drumsticks wafted through the ship and the last rays of sunshine touched the water, we all did our 30 mins of silence. Lots of laughs are heard throughout the ship as the Tucker friendships form. We will all sleep well today after such a good one! Po marie
