YTH2414 – Rā Tuarima – Day 5

The morning was a blast, our legs moving fast, as we walked up, down and around the track, taking in the views with a tasty snack. The forests green, the air so clean, the hill had so much to be seen. We went back to the ship, exploring complete, now it was time for something to eat!

Our bellies full of curry, we left with no hurry, to continue our sail south down the coast. Ideal winds and minor swell, the ship was sailed so very well, the ocean such a gratuitous host. With trainees on lines hauling away, we’re lucky to have some of the best new sailors in the bay! Prepping for tomorrow’s trainee takeover day, they listened intently to what Nick had to say. We think they’ll do great, we think they will thrive, being out here together, they seem so alive.

As we sit now at anchor at Tutukaka, watching the sunset over the harbour, the trainees do the dishes from delicious lasagna.

Thanks for checking in! We wish you a wonderful night
