YTH 2417 – Rā Tuawhā – Day 4

A early morning breeze welcomed us for our climb up the Dukes Nose, a peach coloured sunrise kissing our cheeks as we peered over the top. We sat there admiring the view of the harbour, the birds, the rugged terrain and flat waters ahead. We spent some time soaking in our surroundings before heading back down to settle our grumbling tummies. We tried out the rope swing for the first time, such a thrill that was. We’re a well oiled machine now, wake-up, swim, chores, breakfast, raise anchor, set sail. We gorged ourselves on homemade pizza for lunch, enough for four rounds. For the now bloated deck slugs it was time for beach games, exploring and diving. There’s no shortage of kina onboard, the divers collecting a good feed for the next few days. As we started our journey back to the Bay of Islands we spotted a whale in the distance whilst aloft. Shooting a funnel of mist on the horizon. We ate our delicious soy glazed lamb chops on deck and ended our day how we started it, with the sun kissing our cheeks. Our sundowner now turned to night we are making good progress back to the Bay. It was a huge day for us today, we look forward for more fun tomorrow. Pō marie.
