What a feast! Today we had a sleep in following a late night sailing around from Whangamumu to Paradise Bay. This was followed by a big pancake breakfast with caramelised bananas to get us ready for a big day. Unfortunately our morning plans got canceled but the wind blew up into a perfect sailing weather so we got going into a lesson of how the sails worked practicing setting and striking a bunch of our sails. Then we raised anchor and the trainees took over for the first time leading their teams through setting all the sails.
While sailing around Urupukapuka and Moturua we practiced tacking and wearing ship, performing the manoeuvres many times with the trainees taking over again to show what they had learnt. Anchoring up at Army bay we had an absolute feast prepared for lunch of spaghetti carbonara, cottage pie and the fresh crayfish we caught yesterday, we all ate way too much!
For the evening we all put on harnesses and completed the Tucker challenge, climbing up on the mast and out onto the yards, the sun was setting as we pushed ourselves wth a few even completing it in the dark! Now all excited with our new bracelets we are getting stuck into cooking desert for everyone, looking forward to our plans tomorrow. Until then nã te wã
