YTH 2507 – Rā Tuaono – Day 6

Another start to our day began with our morning dip. The sun was shining and the water was so calm and warm. Straight into our cleaning and breakfast. A start to the day for champions. It was a day for the Tucker Challenge. We suited up in our harnesses ready for a challenge. “I’m so proud of myself” “ This wasn’t that bad” “ I wanna stay up here” were some of words mentioned today. It was a massive achievement for all. We had a long sail ahead of us so we lifted hook a headed down the coast. With our newly elected crew we took over the ship, set all the sails and had a wicked sail. We heeled over feeling the power through the sails. The view of the coastline was beautiful, tall rocks and untouched landscapes. We soon arrived, 18nm it took for us to arrive at Smugglers Bay. Once we dropped anchor we headed ashore for beach games and tender driving, we also saw a pod of seals jumping through the water. Our tummy’s were rumbling and we’ve been thinking about our dinner all day. Roast pork with roasted veges, so delicious. Now we’re going for a bit of a night sail. No moon but the stars are bright tonight. This will be our final blog for the week. We can’t wait to see our family tomorrow. Until then, sweet dreams. We will see you tomorrow.
