We’re proud to announce we have partnered with the Black Ball Yacht Club (BBYC) in Whangārei to provide more funding and opportunities for local youth. David Irvin, a founding member, explains that the club was started to provide a way for visiting yachties to give back to a community that has been so welcoming to them.
David has a passion for helping young people get employed in the marine trade, he said that the visiting yachties understand that a community’s youth are its future. Memberships’ donations contribute towards their Scholarship Fund, which then gets distributed to the community and organisations focusing in this area. The Black Ball Yacht Club has kindly donated $6000 towards our youth development programme – Thank you!
