Dear customers, partners, suppliers, Tucker whānau and supporters,
By the end of this month we will have a new engine, a reconditioned gearbox and a fortified resolve. We are in the throes of a major repair; we are installing a John Deere 6068TFM50 Marine Engine M4 Bobtail, it is bright white and it is a beautiful thing. Like many projects of this nature it has taken longer than expected, revealed further things to be addressed, and cost a bunch more than we would have liked. The good news is we will be ship-shape soon enough.
We have a lot to be grateful for: our suppliers, funders, employees and partners are epic. Shout out to Tony at Total Engineering, James at Moon Engines and Andy at The Engine Room – thank you for continuing to pick up the phone when I ring; you have been champions. Thank you to the team at Explore – Bay of Islands for helping us through. Spirit of Adventure Trust and NZ Sailing Trust, thanks for having our back- love your work.
Luckily we are in the business of teaching resilience; courage-building is our jam. We are looking forward to sailing with you all again soon. Thank you all for your support. Stay tuned, and we will let you know when we are good to go!
