Ahoy from the good ship the R Tucker Thompson!

Ship in Oke Bay

After our farewells, we hoisted sails and made our way out into the Bay of islands after nearly 12 weeks of maintenance. During our sail past the habour we enjoyed sausage sizzles for lunch and ran through an orientation of the ship. As we passed Tapeka Point, we entered into Pewhairangi, hoisted more rag and made a long journey to Oke Bay. We also went through line and sail handling and even got to climb aloft and out on the bowsprit.

As we entered into the shelter of Oke Bay, we doused the sails and enjoyed a nice hot chocolate before heading ashore to stretch our legs and play a few more games. Everyone has settled in nicely, bonding with each other and we see lots of smiles.
