Ahoy from the R Tucker Thompson
Today was a beautiful day
After our duties and breakfast, we split into our port and starboard groups and learned about navigation and anchoring.
We then headed ashore and did an island walk around the largest island in the Bay, Urupukapuka. Along the way we had a picnic lunch on the cliff tops to enjoy the sandwiches and scenery.
Back on board the ship, we suited up and headed around the corner to Otehei bay for a swim.
Back on board the ship once again we warmed up with some hot chocolates and banana cake and then decided to go for a sail
We weighed anchor and set sail (including both square topsails again!) towards Orokawa where we will be spending the night.
After a gorgeous sail gybing down the channel, we furled the sails and went for a bit of fishing off the point. After that, we headed into our anchorage.
It was such an awesome day and a congratulations to John, Brenda and Alida for completing the Tucker Challenge.
