YTH-2104 Tahi Ra

Kia Ora from the RTT.

What a great day one! The sun is shining and spirits high as we look forward to the week at sea. After a welcome and some games, we said bye bye to the parents and cast off the wharf.

Once underway we set some sail, played a name game and got to know the boat. Lunch was a delightful mac and cheese. We putted out round Tapeka and learned some basic sailing commands, followed by a climb aloft. A few team members completed the Tucker challenge which was an awesome achievement. Our destination for the afternoon was Oke Bay. We went for a lovely swim in the clear blue water, a few of us jumped of the rocks and then had a nice cuppa.

A walk to explore the peninsular followed and we explored Te Rawhiti Beach.

As we look forward to dinner, the ship is alive with chatter. It is awesome to see these 12 strangers becoming whanau.
