YTH- 2106 Wha ra

Kia Ora friends and Whanau of the R Tucker Thompson.

What an awesome sunny day despite the initial weather that has been forecast. After the classic morning routine, we all went for a snorkeling adventure the caves at Urupukapuka Bay. Some of the trainees needed a proper throne so we bring them for a quick toilet run at the local campsite.

Back on the vessel and time for school. Navigation lesson has taken place onto two groups. Lesley is very good at math by determining time of sailing and speed on passage planning lesson. Archie S has a lot of knowledge on the maritime chart and never hesitate to help his mate. He is a very good entertainer to.

Anchor is pulled up for a nice sail toward Roberton island. Every single trainee seems to get and understand the role of the lane on the ship. Taipari has been steering the ship under the captain command and did very well.

Once arrived in Roberton, the captain took us around it for a rock climbing and historical tour of the island. Couples of trainees remained on board though to bake us a delicious yummy chocolate brownie, followed by a lovely sunset swim.

They all are super stocked about the journey and we can’t wait to see what they all going to be like on trainee’s day; When they ll have to take over the entire ship, under our supervision.

Epic adventure !
