YTH-2110 Toru Ra

Kia Ora Whanau,

We had an early start today, hauling the anchor at 6:30. We went for a sunrise sail out to Cape Brett, what an adventure!! The sunrise was absolutely beautiful, despite it being a bit windy and cloudy. We had a look at the hole in the rock and then headed back to some calmer waters for breakfast. After brekkie, we cleaned the ship and then got suited up for a dive. Around deep water cove is a marine reserve, so we saw heaps and heaps of fishies!! After a warm shower on deck to heat up we had some lunch. We then got the ship ready for an afternoon sail back to the bay of islands. The teams rotated around sail stations and learned different duties, like anchoring and engine. Despite a solid breeze blowing, the team got the sails up like pros. We did a jibe and headed toward Urupukapuka island, home for the night. We struck and stowed the sails and pulled into paradise bay. We rounded out the day with games and lessons. Looking forward to an awesome feed tonight and another epic day tomorrow. We are very grateful for solid weather and an awesome team unit.

Until tomorrow,

Ma Te Wa.
