YTH 2318 – Rā Tuatoru – Day Three

Our day once again began with a refreshing dip in the ocean. Once we dried off it was breakfast time, porridge and baked beans on toast by chef Arihi. We were then on course to our first mission of the day, exploring the whale station. We spent some time taking in the history of the station before following a mystical stream. The stream took us on an adventure, leading us to a magical waterfall where we took in the serenity. We continued our adventure back to the ship, set sail and headed out for a cave explore and a fish. We learnt how to tie knots and caught a fish. Out of no where we were belted by a gust of hail stones, luckily chef Zhané had made a delicious pumpkin soup with cheese toasty dippers which warmed us all up. Even in the rain we still managed our sails and kept in high spirits. We are now safely anchored up in Mimiwhangata Bay where we were welcomed by dolphins and penguins. We’re now digging into a vegetable curry with rice by chef Zhané. Barista Andre is now fixing us up his signature hot chocolate before lights out. What a full day! Stay tuned for more adventures.
