YTH 2417 – Rā Tuaono – Day 6

Another morning dip signalled the start of our day, straight into it, swim, chores, breakfast then dishes. We are all prepared for our new roles for ship take over the ship. But first it was breakfast with the biologist, TriOceans. We learnt so much about the ecosystem, did you know that dolphins are actually whales? So cool! We shared creamed scones for morning tea as they zoomed off on their next mission, and just like that it was time for us to zoom away on ours. Off we sailed to Waewaetorea officially taking over the ship. There we suited up into wetsuits and headed for an explore through rocks. We managed to score us a crayfish and a few butterfish for dinner.
Up anchor again and off towards Moturoa, once there it was beautiful roast pork, barbecued crayfish and butterfish for dinner, so delicious. We decided to walk off our large amount of dinner and visit the gun emplacements on shore. What an amazing experience seeing these ruins, a chance we wouldn’t have been given otherwise. Back to the ship we went, a night swim with the bioluminescence was now on table. Three, two, one! We all jumped in wearing our buoyancy aid jackets. The bright green bioluminescence traveled like lightning bolts through the water, we all felt like Moana. Hot chocolates followed closely after and a chance to show our final appreciation towards the Tucker crew and fellow friends. Last night onboard. We appreciate you following our epic journey. We will see you tomorrow. Until then!
