YTH-2417-Ra Tuarua-Day 2

Our first morning began with Tucker’s traditional 7am swim.  Only a little prodding needed before the deck was wet from huge manus and jumps from the rigging.  After chores, breakie and a line handling lesson we raised anchor, set sail and pointed Tucker towards our destination, the stunningly beautiful Cavellies! Moral was high as the sun warmed our faces and the breeze picked up from the South at 15 knots.  Perfect winds for Tucker.  At the helm, up the rigging or riding the bowsprit there was excited activity and learning.  After an idyllic sail we dropped anchor off Motukawanui Island for a hike to the highest point on the island and a swim on a white sand beach that happen have a just enough rocks to hide a mountain of Kina.  A number of which found there way back to Tucker’s deck.  We left the island of Motukawanui for the mainland, to find a more protected anchorage for the night.  Arihi then prepared us a delicious dinner as we began to reflex on the day.  During all this activity we are getting to know each other, the chats, the friendly banter, Such a short time and we are no longer strangers and learning how to work together to really ‘Sail the Ship’.  It has been a beautiful fun filled day, we are excited to see what tomorrow brings.
