day one saw a calm motor sail out of opua with a following wind of 10 knots out of the south wich with a good Mac and cheese lunch saw us to Marsden cross in no time. It was a good day for a walk so we meandered over the picturesque countryside and wallowed in the dappled apricity of the sun, we sat at the lookout and made plans for what we wanted to do and achieve from the week. Back on the boat for a quick swim a handful of valiant trainees decided to brave the waters which unfortunately did not bring any consolation to the prospect of the following days morning swim. After a short motor we arrived at our anchorage near the black rocks, a strategic positioning to enable an easy start to tomorrow’s sailing. nacho’s was a hit for dinner as we settled in for the night, spirits are high with all looking forward to what tomorrow holds.
