YTH 2508 – Rā Tuawhā – Day 4

Day 4 ready for more.

A brisk morning swim greeted us all today, but didn’t slow anyone down from getting in. While we enjoyed a hot breakfast a pair of dolphins showed up and hung around while we ate, raising sail we set out in the blowy conditions ready to test some of the knowledge we had learnt from the last few days, our dolphin friends followed us on our way out! Out into the swell and wind we went sailing the ship along at 8knots with a reefed main and only the lower topsail, as we got out we were greeted by another pod of common dolphins as waves splashed over the bow. Everyone having had the share of excitement in the wind and the waves we decided to make our way back to the protection of Paradise Bay where we all enjoyed a moment of calm. After lunch we headed off on a hike to Otehie bay to feed the local snapper in the marine reserve, stopping at the beach to play some group games along the way, we are all sitting and enjoying some cottage pie for dinner as we plan our night activities and what the plan is for tomorrow. Until then.
