YTH2207 – Day three

Kia Ora Whanau,

Anchored off the golden shore of Motokawanui. Our crew awoke this morning with a spring in their step. Knowing we had a jam-packed adventure day ahead, the sailors worked hard through their chores to get the ship moving as quickly as possible. With a solid breeze, the trainees set sail and steered us further North. Just passed Flat Island we spotted a beautiful, clear water, nook, and decided it be a perfect spot for a cheeky dive. The keen water warriors jumped in to explore the underneath world, while the rest of the team fished around the surrounding waters.

Back aboard, we munched down some soup and scones, tucking out of the squalls for a quick moment. Entering Whangaroa Harbour, “It’s just like Jurassic Park” bellowed from our deck. A quick team meeting around the helm, we put ourselves into gear to hike the famous Dukes Nose Track. Epic Scenery amazed the entire team and the view of our Waka and Whare from above gave a very cool perspective.

Back aboard, tucked in out of the elements, the smell of a hearty dinner drifting through the ship’s galley….  A pretty content crew aboard tonight!
