Yth2311-Rā Tuawhā – Day Four

Kia Ora Whanau,

This morning was a quick start! After our morning swim and breakfast we brought the anchor up, set our sails and started our morning clean once we were on our way to the incredible Poor knights. On the way to the islands Mother Nature put on a show for us, we saw whales, dolphins, penguins and albatross. Before we arrived in the islands we learnt about safety at sea and a bunch cool new knots and then it was time to drop our sails and pick our dive spot. We picked a winner! The reef was full of marine life and the visibility was incredible, while we snorkelled next to huge towering cliffs that almost looked Jurassic. After our amazing snorkelling experience in the Poor Knights it was time to set the sails again and sail to our anchorage for the night in Tutukaka. On our way we learnt more about the weather and points of sail, all things useful for us as we continue our journey. We sailed into the harbour while the sun was setting and our amazing chef had dinner ready for us. Watch this space!
