YTH2314 – Rā Tuaono – Day Six

Ahoy,

We’ve had some stunning weather out in the Bay today, and we’ve made the most of it from the moment we arose. Greeted by rainbows in the distance and the sunlight dancing on the sea floor only a few meters below, we plunged into the day with a splash, before promptly making our way to land. We walked from Waiti Bay to Homestead Bay on the opposite side of Moturua, to meet with Project Island Song to help them tackle some Mexican Devil Weed in the swampland. We put in a couple hours of solid mahi and absorbed heaps of ecological knowledge from the legendary Shane. Back on the ship we had some nachos to celebrate our victory, and to fuel us for taking charge of the ship. We were lead by our fearless Captain John, and we worked together like clockwork to set as many sails as we could. We hardly saw the original crew as we commandeered the Tucker all the way back to the beautiful Motuarohia to settle in for a scrumptious roast poaka. The dishes are being done at pace so we have time to get to shore for a game of spotlight to wrap up our evening. Looking forward to seeing you all again tomorrow!

Yours sincerely

Tucker Trainee Takeover Crew
