YTH2315 – Rā Tuaono – Day Six

Kia ora whanau

We have returned back to the Bay after a couple of amazing days exploring new lands. Our morning swim became a morning cleanse when we all went for a wash under the sparkling waterfall behind the historic ruins. Our time in Whangamumu came to an adventurous end as we sailed away with the trainees taking over the ship. We upped anchor being led by our new Captain Kaleb, and on our way out of the harbour we stopped to explore some hidden cave structures. The sea state provided an opportunity to take our dinghy into the hole in the rock while we were being swooped by some glorious mollymawks. After a few hours under sail, we boosted to Waewaetorea Island and were greeted by some of our bottlenose dolphin friends, which provided good omens for an expedition through the local taniwha cave. We have anchored up in Pareanui Bay for a massive feast and one final move with our beautiful ship

po marie, see you all tomorrow!
