YTH2319 – Ra Tuatoru/tuawha – Day 3/4

Kia Ora Whanau back home

We are having the most exciting of adventures here aboard the mighty Tucker.
Yesterday was a land based day, seeing us pack our lunch and gear to head off for an explore of Whangamumu. We landed ashore at the whaling station to educate ourselves on some history followed by a trek to the waterfall. Replenished with a banana chocolate chip muffin we made our way around the bay to the other side and up and over the hill. Boy were there some good views and plenty of laughter all round. Back to the ship for an afternoon of competitive navigation challenges and passage planning for our journey back into the Bay Of Islands.
This morning we set sail and had an epic sail as we rounded Motukokako, we’ve all got our sea legs now and are enjoying the sail with an accompanying sing-song.
We are making our way into Oke Bay where we will stay for the afternoon and the night as well.
We will be out of reception again tonight but back in range and back to daily updates from tomorrow.

Till tomorrow
