YTH2319B – Rā Tuatoru – Day Three

Our morning began with a crisp dip in the water to start our big day off while chef Arihi cooked us baked beans with scrambled eggs on toast. Once the morning routine was completed we headed off toward Deep Water Cove. Along the way we received a safety lesson and learnt how to pump water out of the ship. Once at Deep Water Cove we chucked our wet suits on and went for a dive through the cave. It was full of inquisitive fish, keen to say hello.
While we were diving chef Kym had banged up a delicious pumpkin soup which warmed the soul straight after a dive.
The excitement continued as we were dropped off at a bay and walked the Cape Brett track toward the lighthouse. We soaked up the view with melting home made cookies. We had the chance to see thousands of seagulls nesting as we walked down to our pickup point.
Just when we thought the excitement was over we jumped into the tender and did two trips through the Hole in the Rock. It was absolutely amazing! Along our journey we saw blue penguins, baby seagulls and a pod of dolphins hunting bait fish.
We are now heading to our anchorage for the night in Oke Bay eating a well earned lasagna from chef Kym.
Today was a full day and we will be sleeping well tonight!
