What a cracking first day! After we boarded and said goodbye to our families we set sail! And what a first sail it was we got up to 8 knots as we set off into the bay, everybody got a go learning how to haul on lines and then how to coil, keeping the deck nice and tidy. While underway we had lunch and then started to learn each other’s names. During our sail we had some amazing visitors, dolphins who accompanied us on our journey. We kept on sailing all the way out to Oke Bay where we have stopped for our first night.
Once at anchor we got to settle in and learn about our new home for the next week. We also went climbing! Learning how to don our harnesses and then climbing the foremast all the way to the top to complete our up and over challenge. Now we are eagerly awaiting nachos for dinner and there are rumours floating around about a brownie for dessert!
